January snowfall with geese in a cornfield
This was something I wrote about recently when all the geese had converged on a local cornfield. The snow was falling hard and it was almost all a blur, but so beautiful.

Ice on the Rappahannock in February 2009
Unlike the most recent icing over here on the Rappahannock river, last year was unbelievable with ice piling up for weeks.

December dawn at the crabhouse
This shot was taken just where Catpoint Creek meets the Rappahannock River. Couldn't be quieter and almost suggests springtime, but we weren't deceived.

Old barn on Meadowview

Fall sunset on the Rappahannock River

farmhouse at the end of the day
Beautiful fall moments occur all around us. Here a local farmhouse is being bathed in late afternoon sunlight.

Catpoint crabhouse boats and pots
It speaks for itself. Solitude, nature and light.

Garners Produce farmstand flowers
In one of my earlier messages I talked about working at Garners' putting together flowers for farmers markets. Here's what they tend to look like. Looks like summer, doesn't it?!

Turquoise trimmed skiff at dawn at Catpoint Creek
Here is a quintessential moment on the Northern Neck when all is quiet and the water and sky appear crystal clear.
